sos only

Hiya,I owned a blackberry torch and loved it so when my daughter dropped it down the toilet and it eventualy died I decided to get another one.The only place I could buy one was EBAY so after paying $300 we recieved it and I was very excited.........I put my active boost blackberry sim in to the phone and it wont work.It displays SOS only.I rang my carrier and they told me that it isnt registered in Australia so it wont work.Is this a Valid reason If so can it be fixed? I realy loved my blackberry and I would love someone to help me sort it out please xxx

Hi and welcome to the forums!


Read the attached link regarding possible reasons  for the SOS code. I would take the steps one at a time.

 I also would suggest reading the link on using a previously owned device.
