synchronizing contact database

I updated my desktop manager to the most recent version to synchronize my Curve 8520 with Outlook 2003.  Now when I synch the data it resynchronizes the entire contact database which takes about 20  minutes instead of an incremental synch of only the new entries. The old version did this well. Anyone have ideas how to fix this? Would really appreciate the help.
