trackball has quit scrolling "up"

Hi,

Out of the blue my trackball quit working when trying to scroll "up."   The side to side and down functions work normally but just can't scroll up.  Any ideas about a fix?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Thanks for your answer but it wasn't the solution.  I've tried your suggestion as well as the deleting all data and reinstalling which I found on the BB Tech site.  I've had the phone seven months and am totally crippled by not being able to scroll upward.

My sole communication with you on this has been in this thread. Perhaps you are thinking that I work for RIM? Read the footnote in all of my posts...

 

Given what you describe, it sounds to me that you should take you BB in for warranty evaluation.
