Actually, you can transfer most of your data, all the settings, icon placements, calendar, contacts, notes, tasks, etc.
You can transfer pretty much all of your data from your old BlackBerry Curve to your new BlackBerry Tour by doing the following:
- install BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac
- plug in your BlackBerry
- click "Back Up"
- You will see a choice between backing up "all data" or "selected data"
- If you only care about backing up your contacts, choose "selected data" and look for the checkbox for "Address Book" and "Address Book - All"
- However, I would suggest you do "all data"
- Start the backup
Then, when you get your new Verizon Tour, plug it in and configure it, then you can simply click "Restore", and then choose that backup file you made from the Curve. This will restore all the databases from your Curve, to the Tour.
Hope this helps.

Not that I know of.. I've tried the steps I described above, and it works fine.
If you're still skeptical of BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac, you can back up all your data first (iCal, Apple Address Book), and then you can use BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac to backup all the data on your BlackBerry.
