As for taking music off the cd, that is illegal and I wont tell you how to do that. If you do happen to get the music off the cd to mp3 on your PC. You use media manager from within desktop manager to transfer mp3, avi, jpg to your bb from your PC

It's not illegal to rip music from your own CDs that you have purchased onto your computer. It is illegal to download music that someone else has ripped that you do not own the CDs of.
I use windows media player on my laptop, insert CD, and when autoplay pops up, chose rip music using windows media player.
My problem is that my install of the media manager software says it's corrupted despite the fact that I installed it directly from the CD that came with my 8330.

Have you looked in you picture file. Go to media and look in your picture folder... Are you pictures there?
I hope they are... Enjoy your new bb.

As for where pics are going, I'm not sure, but I just figured out to use Media Sync to get your music on the blackberry. It comes as part of the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Create your playlist in Windows Media Player, save it, then open the desktop manager and click on Media Sync (I believe it's under Media) it will ask if you want to sync iTunes or Windows Media Player, chose windows media player, tell it to import your whole library, it will then give you a window with a series of checkboxes that correspond with the name(s) of the playlists you have saved. Check the ones you want added to your blackberry and then click 'Sync' Time allowed depends on how much you are syncing.
YMMV, but it works on my BB 8330, I have Verizon, but I don't think that matters since this is on the blackberry end, not the service end.
