Hi, can anyone help me. I get the following error message when I try to sync.
[08:19:10.332] Unable to connect to BlackBerry (error 1); skipping.
I have tried;
1) delete software and reinstall (running 4.0.20b)
2) Open Entourage.
3) An alternate USB port.
4) Alternate USB cable.

This error means that the USB drivers for your MAC is not updated. What you need to do is to remove the old USB drivers and install the new USB drivers. You can download the new USB drivers through the BlackBerry website.
Here is the link where you can download the driver:
Try to install the second download:PocketMac Driver update -- DriverUpdate.dmg
Before you install this try to delete these two files first:
Please check in your HD (Home Drive)/System/Library/Extensions directory.
After removing this empty your trash. Then restart the MAC. Then downlaod and install the drivers.
This should work 100%. If there are issue just reply to this thread.

I have the same issue but it seems the driver is no longer available on the page. I also tried to install 4.1.25 and it doesn't mount the pearl either.
Can someone send me DriverUpdate.dmg or tell me where I can download it?

I deleted these two files:
Then rebooted and the pearl mounted on the desktop. Nice.
Then I installed pocketmac 4.1.25 rebooted and no pearl mounted on the desktop. Not nice.
Then I deleted the two files again, rebooted, and it mounts on the desktop, but pocketmac does not communicate with it. Not nice.
So, the USB drivers for 4.1.25 do NOT work with Mac OSX 10.5.5. Anybody have drivers that do work for this version of OS?

does anyone have an answer to this?
i just got a new unibody MacBook Pro and my 8320 will not sync. pocket mac (nor missing sync) doesn't even recognize it. my older MacBook Pro sees and syncs with it just fine. my MacPro even sees it, but the newest MacBook Pro doesn't.
i used windows to update the devices software to 4.5 and still no go.
i'm on a previous gen macbook pro and newest geration macbook pro using the latest pocketmac app and running OS 10.5.5.
does anyone think that this can be handled with a software update for the BB or is this an apple issue?
i'm less likely to think Apple because it connects just fine with my previous macbook pro and my my macpro dekctop.
