The holster automatically cancels the lock feature of your phone. Here is an explanation:
If you're using a BlackBerry holster, the unlocking would not be a problem because the magnet in the holster (assuming you're using the correct holster for your model of phone) shuts off the screen and makes unwanted key presses impossible. Your phone will unlock no matter what once you remove it to receive a call and as long as it stays in the holster at other times, you should be alright.

You're not using a proper holster, then. It's very important to get the proper holster; not every BlackBerry holster can be used on just any model. With a proper holster, your problems will disappear instantly.
P.S. I use a clip holster from Seidio. It's an aftermarket company but their products are perfectly compatible with BlackBerry phones.

i have found a simple solution to the automatic unlocking when removing from the holster.
lock your phone manually, insert it into the holster upside down, with the screen facing your body. When you remove the phone from the holster, the sensor is on the opposite side, and the phone does not unlock.
