Re: update of my phone

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

First off -- these forums are volunteer supported. As such, common etiquette dictates waiting 24 hours before "bumping" a post so that the volunteers have time to live their lives.

Second, please add this to your process:

  1. Download, to your PC, your BB OS package from your carriers download site (http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp)
  2. Uninstall, from your PC, any other BB OS packages that you may have installed (if any)
  3. Install, to your PC, the BB OS package you downloaded in step 1 above
  4. Now run the Desktop Software and see if it offers to you your desired OS for your BB

Good luck!

Re: update of my phone

RIM does not provide the initial Warranty evaluation; the original place of purchase is responsible for that. If they send it to RIM for additional evaluation, the result can be the same or different. There's no way for anyone at this internet distance to make any different judgement about your situation. Only a qualified technician, with your BB in hand, can possibly make such a determination. Your appeal process is to escalate with your local support to their management, and higher up their management chain until you either accept the result they have given you or they change the result.

Good luck!
