Re: virus scan

There are no known virus for the BlackBerry (so far) and you can't scan for a virus on a device for which the scan does not know what to look for.

Re: virus scan

there is no virus known on a Blackberry device.. but you are responsible of what you install on it :
if you install an application, be sure the source is trustworthy, and that it is compatible with your device.
if you upgrade your OS, be sure the source of the OS is legit.

Re: virus scan

I have a Storm 9550 and I just paid $19.99 for an on-board AntiTheft and malware software called SMobile Security Shield AntiTheft for Blackberry.  It did not install gracefully and after going through several layers of technical support I finally got it all loaded and working.  I downloaded directly through the over-the-air download from their site directly to the Blackberry.  Nothing is loaded on my PC.  Not only does it scan everything that is loaded onto the Blackberry, realtime, but it also allows me to remotely lock and/or erase the Blackberry should I lose it or it is stolen.  It looks great so far.  I have it updating the virus signature files daily and it didn't seem to make a dent in my memory.
