want to create an email address

Hi, I've inherited a blackberry and Im trying to set up my email address in the set up wizard bit but the old owners User Name & Password is on there (which I dont know the password)

Ive told the blackberry that Ive forgotton the password and it says its messaged me the password, but its not coming up in the texts.  My phone is flashing a green light all the time, but I cant see what its for (is this the message)??

If so where is it???

Very frustrated, please help.....

Re: want to create an email address

You'll need to do a security wipe to rid the phone of the previous user's info. Once that is done, setting up your own email address will be a breeze.

To do a security wipe, on your homescreen click Options then follow either Device>Security>Security Wipe OR Security>Security Wipe, depending on which OS your phone is running.

Re: want to create an email address

After a security wipe, your phone is as fresh as it was leaving the factory. When you turn it on for the first time, you'll be guided through the setup process. During this process you'll be asked for your BlackBerry ID. This step can be skipped (to the best of my knowledge) but you won't get anything of any value from your phone without logging in to it at this point.

Once you've got your BB ID set up, you can proceed to set up email accounts. If it doesn't guide you to do it during the setup process, you can press Setup on your homescreen and set up a number of email accounts from there.

I hope I've answered your question. If not, please don't hesitate to post back asking for clarification....it's no bother, that's what we're here for.  Cheers.  Smiley Happy
