water damage? heck no!

This morning I accidently threw my BB Bold 9990 into about a foot of water on the Ottawa river while fishing. "fished it out" It still works. Thanks RIM.

Re: water damage? heck no!

It may work for now. However, if you continue to use it while it's wet you take the risk of it dying at any moment. I recommend removing the battery, sim card, and memory card and allow the device to dry in a warm area (on top of a TV, stereo, etc.) for a couple of days. You can take the advice or not but all it takes is for one small drop of water inside to shift and short out the device. Water doesn't hurt these devices. Water + electricity does.

Good luck!

John

Re: water damage? heck no!

Probably very sound advice. I consider myself lucky that it works as all.
Thanks

Re: water damage? heck no!

Let it sit for a few days. Don't "check" it or do anything else. Just let it completely dry before you use it again.
