Hi and welcome to the forums!

I have BB weather and I think it's great.

You are the guinea pig though, I do not know if it works on the Bold! Smiley Wink

Remember to disable the MDS proxy when you install.

Re: weather on blackberry bold

I am very new to this and attempted to download it through mobileblackberry.com, then went to weather push, agreed to the terms and conditions and then selected accuweather add.  It then sent me to a screen to search for a city and state. After setting the location I selected it to be delivered as browser channel and the frequency as once a day.  I then selected subscribe.  It said I should see the next update in a day.

I can view the 5 day forecast but there is not an icon on my home screen.  Is this correct?

I can try the link you gave but I don't know anything about disabling MDS proxy... Can you give me further info?

Is this just suppose to be a bookmark on the browser?

Hi,

Yes you should have got an icon on your screen I've posted mine under the post.

If you access by the browser I don't think you have to worry about the MDS proxy.

I didn't go to accuweather and subscribe, this is a free service. I jsut got the OTA

and allowd all permissions, and there was the icon on my screen. If you specified

browser channel, you didn't get the Icon.  Here is what it looks like:

Thanks,

I am going to try your link instead of going to mobileblackberry.  is there an option to disable the MDS proxy?

Re: weather on blackberry bold

When you download it it will ask for permissions allow all, after it's installed press the menu key and options,

that's where you will find the place to disable the MDS proxy. If you use multiple cities, you have to

turn it off in each.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,

Re: weather on blackberry bold

ok, i got an error saying error. no weather profiles specified and followed the following steps.  WhIen I went into options and put in a zipcode it would not do anything when I hit the ok button so I added the city and state and it did allow me to hit ok.  I selected to disable MDS proxy and changed the poll interval minutes.  I saved the changes, closed the screen and got an error saying bad or missing query parameters in the request ... any suggestions?

1. Click on BBWeather to open the application

2. You will get error that says: no weather profiles

3. Click on the trackball and select ok. do not click on the menu button

4. Click the trackball again and it will bring you to the menu

5. Select Options and add a weather profile [the location ID is your zip code]

6. If you are on BIS make sure you check the box to 'disable MDS

  • Note: In the USA, entering a zipcode as the Location ID will work.

Re: weather on blackberry bold

Hi,

Yeah entering the city and state was the bad or missing query.

The program is just looking for the short code.

I sent you the link for the actual weather ID's as I had problems with zip codes.

Other than that, I think you are almost there!  Smiley Wink

Give the actual weather Id's a chance, I think it will work better.

Thanks,

Re: weather on blackberry bold

ok, I got the code but it will not let me select ok unless there is something in the description field.. I tried putting the same code there but now get invalid location provided.  I have the location ID in from the link you gave but there is no description on that page.  What should I put in the description?
