wifi abroad

[ Edited ]

Can any one help me!

How do i set up my blackberry curve 9300 when im abroad so i dont get charged from my network provider 02.  I just simply want to connect for free to wifi or hotspot.

Do I have to have data services and roaming switched on?

Do i just need to turn my 3g off and select 2g?

Re: wifi abroad

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

It varies by specific OS level, so all I can give you is generic advice.

If you do not want any voice services while roaming, then turn off the Mobile Network radio.

If you need voice services while roaming, but want to avoid data charges, then turn off the "Data Services While Roaming" setting.

If you want to totally be in control, then turn off all radios and services, and only turn them on when you need them, and only turn on those that you require for that session.

To be 100% sure how your carrier will deal with your roaming, though, you really must talk to them.

Good luck!
