i am unable to connect to wifi network. but when i am 2metre's near the hotspot i am able to connect.

First, do a battery pull.  Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.  Next, delete your home Wi-Fi network from your list in your phone (Manage Connections>Wi-Fi) then re-add it.  If these two steps don't help, power down your wireless router then boot up again.
