youtube error

I've searched and not found this particular problem, but my appologies in advance if I'm being repetitious.
Some time in November 2012, the functionality of youtube stopped on my BB. The first device was an unlocked torch 9860, and now an unlocked bold 9900. The problem is that youtube videos will start playing, but somewhere around :40 - 1:00ish, the video will stop with an error message stating "an error occurred while attempting to play media". There is no error # given, just an "ok" button to click.
I cannot think of any association to apps or software downloads that coincide with this error occurring. It started very arbitrarily, on a device that was functioning.
Any thoughts?
