Bad Screen?

I was given this Playbook as an unwanted Christmas present and with only a couple of hours use, I find a fault.

I now have faint vertical lines on the screen when held in landscape.  I have tried various reboots thinking it may be a software glitch, but its still there, and its really annoying.

Have I now got the hassle of sending this back - or is there something else I can try?

Re: Bad Screen?

If it's a hardware problem (I've seen similar before) and it was just purchased around Christmas, an RMA or warranty return is really the best option. A brand new out of the box shouldn't have these issues.

Re: Bad Screen?

Reason I asked is for reference should anyone report similar - ish issues we can ask, "is it like this?"

Or it could be something easily fixed or whatnot

Re: Bad Screen?

Don't know, haven't seen it.

Do I detect hostility?

Re: Bad Screen?

No hostility. For a brand new device, I'd get an exchange and not expect a new user experience to start off on the wrong foot, there's just no reason to keep an initially faulty device.
And, I've seen the screen he speaks of and it's a hardware issue.

Re: Bad Screen?

I haven't seen the screen, that's why I asked.

I agree that an exchange is do able and should be done if things can't be rectified..

Just never seen it before

Re: Bad Screen?

Quite a few vertical line problems reported before. All fixed by sending them back for repair or replace. Search for the word "vertical" in the forum.
