Blackberry Playbook Tablet cannot connect to computer's Blackberry Desktop

Help! I've tried resetting the tablet, updating the software.  The tablet shows it is connected to the Windows 8 computer.  The Blackberry Desktop Software cannot connect with the tablet. It lists under devices but it cannot connect. Help!

Sorry to hear about the issue you are having connecting with the BlackBerry Desktop Software. To resolve this issue, I would recommend trying the second set of articles listed in the following KB article to help  troubleshoot any connectivity issues. Hi,

 

I'm having the same problem.  I'm using Windows 7 on Sony Vaio laptop.

 

On connection:

The Playbook screen 'Connected to Computer' appeares on the Playbook...

 

The PC Blackberry Desktop recognises the USB connection:

.. says it is connecting to the Blackberry device ..

.. then it gives message 'Problem connecting to your Blackberry Device' ...

 

The Playbook does not appear as a separate drive attached to my computer on my explorer file view.

 

When I check connected devices - Blackberry Device Manager - Volumes - I see that the volume is reported as not connected.

None of this does anything...

The BlackBerry PlayBook appears in Windows Device Manager but the Desktop Software does not detect the connected BlackBerry PlayBook.
KB28444 - The BlackBerry PlayBook is not directly connected to the system.
KB13331 - Power Management is enabled on the system.
KB28456 - Selective Suspend is enabled on the system.
KB28458 - User Account Control is disabled on the system
KB28457 - Administrative rights have not been correctly propagated to the BlackBerry Desktop Software
KB26745 - A personal firewall is blocking USB network connectivity to the BlackBerry PlayBook
