Re: Blackberry Playbook micro usb port fault

You would need to find a cellular phone repair store and have them do the repair. BB does not repair devices.

If it's just the USB port and you're not interested in plugging the device into a computer you can get a rapid charger that uses the magnetic charging port on the bottom of the device. Lots of them available on Amazon.

Re: Blackberry Playbook micro usb port fault

I am going to post a YOUTUBE video on what you are talking asking about.... will leave you the details when I do so... If you haven't taken the case apart, and removed the motherboard, AND HAD SOME MICROSCOPIC glasses... Smiley Happy you will need to see the actual damage the plug in connector does to the motherboards locations where the connector dry contacts the motherboard... These postings we see where someone suggests lifting up the usb plug to make a quick fix temporary connection, you will see is actually scraping the copper layer the dry contact makes contact with ( this is designed to be a repairable item ) is completely gone from the surface of the circuit board... Which is why BB will not be repairing or taking these units In for repair. A cell phone repair place will charge you for the dis and re assembly to let you know it is not repairable... Hand tight I'll send you the link... I'm using an HD camera Micro Zoom on a monitor as my eyes for a good view of what I am trying to repair... you can buy the replacement connectors from China on E bay for about 1.85 or locally for 3 to 5 dollars... but if your circuit board has been scraped clean of the contact... don't waste your time.
It allways starts off with the connectors structure solder joints breaking/loosening from the bad engineering of a mini plug being overused... stick with the docking station and the wireless connection.. you will never get back the desktop connection.. but they do support like 7GB of Free Cloud for wi fi transfer... I'm looking into that for movies, music, pictures and porn... Smiley Happy Yeah Yeah,, your right... who needs more pictures on a tablet... Smiley Happy
