Can't change Blackberry ID and can't log in to do a security wipe

I bought a second hand playbook and i cnt log in with my blackberry id as it is locked to the original which i do not know te password for and i ca not get in contact with the previous owner. Is there anyway to overcoe this maybe doing a security wipe without having to log in. I donnt know, please help.

You can simply create a blackberry id by visiting below link & authenticate using it. Assume, it should work.. Smiley Happy

EDIT: refer the last few lines of this KB article here ... in your case you don't know the pass or may be the both credentials.. therefore, create a new ID and authenticate Smiley Wink

Have a security Wipe from Options > Security > Security Wipe. Then type in 'blackberry' without quote. This will wipe out all device data and make the reconfigurable with new BB ID.

What do you mean "log in" - is the playbook asking for a password to even access the home screen?

yeah because i have to log in as the original BB ID but i do not know the password as the playbook had a previous owner.

BlackBerry Security. You have to have the original owners BBID and their original Password. This is to protect owners who have had their equipment lost or stolen.

And what if i am unable to obtain their password? Is there no other solution?

You have to get the original owner to wipe it first. This is clearly stated somewhere that before you hand over your PlayBook to another owner it must be wiped. Just contact the original owner.
