There is no procedure. Android apps require OS 10.2.1 to run. No 10.2.1, no Android apps.

What the PlayBook does (surfing the internet, playing games, email, etc.), it does well. If running Android apps is not a top priority, the PlayBook could still fill the bill on many levels.

Wow, lots of misinfo!
It is possible technically, and the PB Android emulator is 2.3.3 (Gingerbread), actually. But it's hit or miss in terms of what actually works. You have to be a trial and error type of person.
Have a look at this thread:

Fair enough. Either way, 2.1 or 2.3 it's ancient now, but there are a few apps that work fairly well: kindle, Flipbook (a little touchy but works), News 360 and a few games run fine. You can't expect more from a 4 year tablet at this point.

Agreed with it being spotty and 2.x being ancient in terms of Android.
And sorry, my "misinfo" comment wasn't directed towards you, but rather at earlier posters who said it's not possible at all to install Android apps on PB.
Other ones I use:
Songza (an early version that still works)
Ghost Commander (file manager available in BB World)
I used to use other ones like D7 Reader (feedly client), Osmand maps, etc.
For anyone who tries it out, I'd suggest to look through the above thread, visit Goodereader and look around, and if you want to try to convert your own, search for old APKs from an archive.
