I don't get it clear here, you said in your first note that "Blackberry Desktop Manager" is different from "Blackberry Device Manager"> Are you trying to say that i have to install them both or just the former one?

bro, I got the same problem here to activate my BBP . I tried as you instructed . But  Its taking updating procedure as along time of 4 hour with my 512kbps speed . though it downloaded the updating file of almost 1GB.After downloade My playbook turned on automatically and show the same procedure to update via wifi . I'm really crushed . could you please tell me the whole procedure step wise from starting point to the finishing piont of updating via using desktop Management software .
