Contacts

After I have entered a contact's details and  save them I get the error message

 

Application interrupted

This application was interrupted. Please close and open it again to continue

 

The contact details are not saved.

 

If I close the application and try again I get the same error message.  As a result I have no contacts in my contacts folder! 

 

Does anyone know why this is happens and more importantly how can I fix it.  I have the latest OS installed.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried a hard reset?

On your advice I tried a hard reset (up and down volume, and off buttons simulaneously) but the problem is still there whether I try to enter a contact from scratch of from an e-mail that I have received.

Just in case I got the first hard reset wrong  I tried again with the same result.

I solved the problem myself with a reintallation of the operating system using the facilities provided by the BlackBerry Link program. Pretty drastic but it worked - don't forget to backup you data first!
