'Failure when receiving data from the peer.'

I am getting an 'Unknown network error' with the message 'Failure when receiving data from the peer.' when attempting to access certain webistes via the Playbook browswer, for example BBC iPlayer login, Blinkbox login and Gmail. They are all secure https sites I think. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

I have the same problem. I can't seem to have the tablet work even after connecting with bridge, I can't even open my messages on the playbook. I bought the tablet with a OS 2.0.0.6149. Can anyone help me fix this?

That doesn't sound like the same problem. My Playbook works OK in all other ways but just won't login to https:// sites.

i am having the same problem. Does anyone have a fix for this? Attached is an image if it helps.

Is your Wifi turned on. I get that message when I try connecting with my wifi turned off.

You may want to back up your data and do an update using the desktop manager.   The current version is 2.0.0.7971.
