Glowing screen after being turned off- won't turn on, reboot, or charge

This has happened a few times now. I will turn off my blackberry, and it seems to shut down. But, the screen continues to glow (with a kind of bluish light). I can't get it to turn on, and the 3 button reboot doesn't work, either. It is fully charged, so I know that's not the problem. Advice?

hold power down for 20 seconds and see if it reboots while power is attached, my son had this happen after playing a game that locked up. only happens on a rare ocasion and cant figure which game has done it.

Tried the 20 second power button trick, while plugged in. Didn't work.

I wonder if this is the cause of some playbooks getting completely flat batteries for no obvious reason.

Re: Glowing screen after being turned off- won't turn on, reboot, or charge

Found the answer!!! I talked to by brother, who worked for Blackberry until recently. He suggested that if the Playbook still has a bluetooth connection when you turn it off, that it may sometimes cause this problem. My bluetooth wasn't connected, but my wifi was on. I unplugged my home wifi, and the Playbook immediately stopped glowing, and became responsive. If it's your bluetooth, you may try turning off the connection on your phone, or doing a battery pull on your phone. If neither work, letting the battery run out will cut the connection.

Actually, it didn't work! Well, the disconnect from wifi didn't work. Letting the power drain did the trick, however. But, I don't want to have to do that EVERY time this problem happens (which seems to be quite often). So, still looking for any other suggestions.

Hold down the power button and both volume buttons until the red LED flashes. Release the buttons and give it 3 or 4 minutes to reboot.

Three buttons while connected to power worked here.  Did wonder if it was a quick turnoff after checking an email? I notice both our screens take their time to fully turn off.
