I find the mini keyboard useful but without predictive text, it is quite often faster to type on screen.
I understand the onscreen keyboard disappearing when using a physical keyboard but the predictive text is very useful and only a short hand motion off of the mini keyboard.
Is there a way to enable this or is this a future fix. Mostly my new keyboard is acting as a protective case for the playbook.

Since they already support predictive text, I don't think it would be much to just make the keyboard disappear on screen but keep the word suggestions.

I see what you are trying to say now.
Has the mini keyboard released in your area?
With the playbook in the case, it is very quick for your fingers to reach forward and hit a predictive text line at the bottom of the screen. The kbd is handy but a bit too small to type very fast.
Google blackberry mini keyboard images to see what it looks like.

I was trying to figure out why you would be arguing with me about the usefulness of a feature and I assumed that perhaps you have not seen or used the mini keyboard. I was mistaken. Others have compained on the the of the same problem that I started this thread on, so I am not the only person who sees this as a flaw.
I do see that you are a BB10 developer. I remember seeing a video of predicitve text on BB10 and it would not work with the mini keyboard at all. With OS 2.0.1 and I assume OS 2.1, the one line of predictive text that we have now could be used with the mini keyboard.
