I can't do this??

I have a bunch of cross-linked html files on my PC that I use constantly and would like to replicate on the PB.  Why html?  Well, cos, I REALLY like the ability to quickly - well, like, immediately - jump from one file to another.

However, it would appear that PB will not let me transfer .html files.  Not sure what it does with them ... but I sure can't find them on the PB after a supposed transfer.

By the way, trying to transfer such files may be THE thing that caused my recently solved connection problem.

So am I dreaming in technicolour or can this be done?  And then the files to be recognized and opened by "Browser".

Appreciate tips as to how ...

I was able to transfer files via usb, but you can do this over WiFi as well.

I use air browser and was able to open a sample html file I transferred to the playbook.

The native file manager doesn't see html files it looks like.  When using the air browser, the html file opened in the browser.  You can also edit txt files using air browser.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to do here but it sounds similar to what I (and others before me) have done with Favorites/Bookmarks from PC browsers.  I export my PC browser bookmarks  to a bookmark.htm file, send it to the PB to Documents.  For me, I prefer to use My File Manager where it will show up in Documents. I then open the PB browser and look it up and save the link either in the browser.  Clicking on the browser link takes me to the same site bookmark list as in the PC browser. If I've made mistakes, somebody please correct them!!!

Hope this gives you some ideas to make the PB more useful for you.

Edit: TOF beat me to it but I was testing the solution.

Yes the missing link here is the so-called "File Manager" in Playbook which does not regognise html files. I use another manager called AIR Browser and like My File Manager it will open html files.

I just transferred a full website of mine from my Mac to Playbook (all in one folder called mywebsite inside the Documents folder in Playbook), and in AIR Browser I opened the index.html for the site and it opened in the Playbook Browser.

That can be saved as a browser bookmark in Playbook as just suggested, either in Book, arks or Home Screen. It will save as file:///accounts/1000/shared/documents/mywebsite/index.html or whatever the home html file is called.

If you know where the files are you can just type in the url as above without any special filr manager installed.

Re: I can't do this??

Well, I dunno about the "other" files and folders app ... but I do know about AIR browser ... which, in fact, "did the job" for me.

Thank you so VERY much.
