Mark all messages as read in Messages app?

Added a gmail account and now I have a gazillion unread emails that have been read on the laptop's outlook client. So I wonder if anyone know of a way to mark all messages as read in a quick and nifty way?

You are not alone... looking for that myself, as well.

Standby, I'm searching.

Bump!

I can't figure this one out either. The manual opening of each message is brutal and I've only got a 100s! Not 1000s that others might be dealing with!

Swipe down, press Select?

Could you select all mails from that? I could only select them either one by one, or by a multitouch by selecting one at the top and then select one at the bottom without releasing the finger from the other, but that only allows me to select about 10 mails at a time.

Re: Mark all messages as read in Messages app?

I attempted the swipe down function and all i get is the ability to change font size. I saw this happen once before. In the instance i had the issue went away the next day and then operated where the alert went away when i checked the mailbox and reset for the arrival of new emails.

I've just got a reply back from @BlackBerryHelp that for now, "you will need to tap on each message individually to mark it as read".

No, I don't like that either, but.

Re: Mark all messages as read in Messages app?

My BBM notification alert is doing the same thing now...even though I have read all of my BBMs. The notification will not clear.....

FYI emails received via native email the notifications work properly. They disappear once i activate the window or application.

BTW - I am only getting the constant on notification on bridge email. (Which is also where BBM is housed)

Re: Mark all messages as read in Messages app?

I have been able to do this but its a little tedious.  First slide down from the message screen.  Second select the "select" icon from the messages select all the unread messages by scrolling over all messages.  Third collect on the message read/unread icon.  That should do it but its still not easy

I don't think you can do that (yet) on the PlayBook, but if you mark them as read from the Gmail web client, they will also be marked as read on the PlayBook.

By the way, it's really a problem in the Outlook client. That doesn't sync its read status properly back to the server. If you're using POP to connect to Gmail in Outlook, try using IMAP instead.
