Multiple Playbook Problems

When I start up my Playbook it gives me the error

"Thank you for participating!

 

The blackberry 10 dev alpha device program has ended.

 

For details on what to do next, please visit developer.blackberry.com"

 

I connected the playbook to my computer however the blackberry desktop manager won't recognize it so I am unable to restore it to the factory settings.

 

I am wanting to know what I can do to get my playbook back into the state in which I can use it.

Can I assume you have dev alpha version of BB10 hacked into playbook? We discourage hacking playbooks but still get asked how to recover. Maybe you bought it with BB10 "installed".

 

There is a chance the playbook is wrecked, but try a debrick. You will lose all your data. 

 

Disconnect usb cable.

Turn playbook right off, completely off (no glowing screens) by holding down power button 20sec. Then wait a couple of minutes

 

Start up desktop software.

Connect usb.

You will get an error message, with retry and update as options.

Without wasting any time select UPDATE.

The process of reloading OS normally then takes place, however with a hacked playbook it is not guaranteed.
