NEW 2.1.0.1088 SOFTWARE UPDATE

Could use some help.

 

I have been trying to download the Software update 2.1.0.1088 and it downloads fine and installs halfway through then comes up as can't install and I can't get back to anything, it keeps wanting to update with no other options to go back to the home screen.   How can I stop this and go back to what I had??
