Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list - MAPS.NOKIA.COM

There is a mobile view at http://m.maps.nokia.com that kind of works sometimes.

The maps are quite easy to read but it takes a few attempts to display the maps and traffic.

nokia maps on playbook

there is an interface to download a map area onto the mobile (playbook).

However, the map turns blank, but the save works (progress bar shows progress).

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

In this thread what other web browser would I be talking about and why would I want to download an inline audio file, and it is either this browser or the web page that is asking for the plugin whether it is an Apple product is immaterial, the PlayBook default browser will not play the inline audio file when the triangle shaped play button is clicked inside the voice mail page. Inline audio is a function of the HTML 5 specification.

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

well a website that relies on Silverlight prevents the customers using Android / iOS / BlackBerry to use the website. Blame the webmaster.

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

Xandrex. That's unacceptable. My pb is supposed to be full web therefore there should be a compatible plug-in to compensate or RIM should be negotiating with the creators of silverlight plug-in to work with BB pb. Full web means full web not part web.

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

Fjock I'm with you. We need to overcome proprietary web features...full web is full web. And PB is not an Android platform unless it fully supports Android. HTML 5 spec is supposed to bring cross platform compatibility.

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

It's not just the silverlight plug-in that's missing from the PlayBook browser.  A website I use quite frequently requires .cfm platform to retrieve pdf documents and PlayBook does not support that platform.  Their advertising should state what they do not and will not support.  Had I known I wouldn't have purchased this tablet.

Re: PlayBook Browser incompatable website list

There is no tablet on earth that currently support cfm. The problem is the webmaster, not the tablet makers.
