Playbook Apps World gone wacky.....

Newb here, just started with my Playbook and something wacky has happened with my Playbook. Went to download an app, and after it downloaded, the app world won't let me back to the normal page where it has the tabs at the top with "Featured" and "Games" and "Apps" and "My World". All it says is "installed" and is stuck there.  No apps show up, no way of getting back to the main page, no nothing.....drrr. Tried soft reboot, tried hard reboot. Any ideas out there?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Playbook Apps World gone wacky.....

If it's only App World that is not working you will have the chance to back up your data.

If however your playbook is stuck on that page and will not show any other page despite holding the power button down til it restarts, I reckon you have no option but to de-brick. YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA if you have not recently backed up.

Connect to desktop software using USB and see if you can backup your data. See if you have the option to update te OS.  If so take that action.

If you can't backup and update do the debrick.

Make sure you know your Blackberry ID and password

If you can, backup important data. Preferably by wifi share drag n drop as well as desktop backup.

Turn Playbook right off (i.e. Shut Down). If necessary hold down power button for 20 seconds.

Ensure you have the latest Blackberry Desktop Software to your PC or Mac and start it up

Connect the Playbook by USB cable.

If the red light starts to glow press the power button immediately

Because Playbook is off you will get an error message basically saying Retry or Update  (on Mac it may say repair rather than Update)

Quickly select the Update (or repair) option

The Playbook will start to get a new OS that will take a good hour to download via the PC

Follow the registration process using your current Blackberry ID

(at this point test your problem again)

Add back your email accounts etc.

Reinstall your apps from App World, My World.

Copy back your data.

(test your problem again)
