Playbook Connection to Windows 8

I am unable to connect my Playbook to my desktop which is running in Windows 8 as my PC device manager is informing of the following - This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). The driver software for my Playbook is up to date. Can anyone in the community please advise how I can overcome this issue.

Ensure that you have the latest Blackberry Desktop Software Installed on your desktop. The latest version is 7.1. 

You can download it from here.

You can also connect to the playbook if you have blackberry link installed on your computer.

Either one of the softwares is necessary.

I also have the same problem with Win 8 and Win 7; I am unable to connect either of our two Playbooks to any of our two Win 8 computers or our Win 7 one. What seems to be the problem is that there are no drivers loaded for the Desk Top USB systems. I have checked Device Manager and there are no Blackberry drivers under Network; under Ports there appear to be two RIM serial drivers -RIM Virtual Serial Port v2 COM3 and (Com4). Somehow, neither Win 8 nor DeskTop is providing drivers for the USB connection.

 

Does anyone else have this problem?

i have not been able to connect my playbook to my Windows8 laptop either. I was wondering if the 10 operating system if and when it happens for the playbook will resolve the issue?  Thanks

Hello Guys ,

 

I have answer for this just follow the below step you can do it

 

> After connecting the playbook with your computer 

> go to control panel> Systems and srcurity>system (Control Panel\System and Security\System)

> now click on device manger on right hand side 

>now you can find you playbook is listing up under  Universal serial bus controler and blackberry playbook  

> just right click it and click uninstall

> now disconnect the Playbook and re connect it 

 

IT WILL WORK Ha HA HA

Its not about the latest version of the Play book OS..
