Playbook Unable to connect to router

I found that if the router is configured to use wep, the playbook will try to connect to it with wpa or wpa2. This means you will not be able to connect to the router.

The fix to this is when configuration the network on the playbook, click on advanced and change wpa2. To wep by clicking on it. Then enter your password.

RIM should make this option available on the basic view to make it easier for the user.

Re: Playbook Unable to connect to router

What mode are you using on your router? The PlayBook does not support 802.11n using TKIP or WEP. Refer to KB26522.

Re: Playbook Unable to connect to router

The best way to fix the problem is to change the router to use wpa2 encryption.

The playbook should work on wep but first you need configure it to do so in the advance menu.

Click on security type and slide up to wep.

My router is a g/b/n dualband but it should work with 2.4ghz and 5.0 ghz

Re: Playbook Unable to connect to router

I am now connected to wep with my playbook and it works with no problem. As long as you configure it.

Also if this does not fix it do anfactory reset on the router and it will be good as new.
