Playbook - apps not loading correctly and icons not on desktop

I have a new Playbook 32GB with OS 2.1.0.1526.

 

I have had hassled with Wi-Fi not connecting (now fixed) and apps not downloading (needed to advance date to 2014 and reboot).

Now the few apps I have tried to download are listed in the "MyWorld" as installed but not on the desktop.

Where are they?! How can I use them?

 

Help very much appreciated. The "out-of-the-box" experience lacking at present!

Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage. There's also a second (or more) page tobthe right but they invariably appear at the bottom of the first page.

My kids thought that was really funny, so thanks for a good laugh this evening: all those apps I have downloaded sitting quite happily, but out of sight! Appreciate your kind patience with a newbie.
