Re: Playbook from HELL

I used my Playbook yesterday and it was at 16% at 7:00 pm last night when I put it back on the Rapid charger.  This morning at 8:30 am  its at 15%.   I'm getting so frustrated!   Do you have any more suggestions?

Re: Playbook from HELL

Ok. The Playbook shutdown on its own. Now it won't charge. I've held the power and volume and get a red light. Then I turn it on and it gets to the red startup screen and dies. I've tried holding the power button down when it starts etc. NOW IT WON'T CHARGE OR STARTUP!!!!!! Garbage! Garbage! Garbage!!

Re: Playbook from HELL

I have a rapid charger and it doesn't charge it either. I did have it going for about 3 hours yesterday by plugging it into a USB port and was able to copy all my files but now it won't work again.

Re: Playbook from HELL

sounds like you have a charging issue with it

maybe time to get a replacement based on your past issues

Re: Playbook from HELL

Do you think if I took it back to Factory Settings and reloaded it would it work (that's if I can)

Re: Playbook from HELL

cant hurt to try this

First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.

This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.

Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.

You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.

QUICKLY choose the Update option.

This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.

Re: Playbook from HELL

I tried to do a backup with Blackberry Desktop several times and it crapped out part way through each time. However I did get a backup using Blackberry Link. And it has a Factory Reset. Would this be the same?

Re: Playbook from HELL

Ok. I will give it a try but I won't be able to do setup until I get a wifi connection. Smiley Sad
But it has to charge first before I can do the setup. Keep your fingers crossed!
