Playbook is recognized by Blackberry Link when running Windows 7 Pro but not when running Windows 8. Does anyone know when this will be corrected?

Are you talking about the BlackBerry Desktop Software on Windows 8 not recognizing the PlayBook or did you install BlackBerry Link on Windows 8 and that is not recognizing the PlayBook?
If the latter, BlackBerry link indeed only works with BB10 devices. The solution is to install BlackBerry Desktop Software on Windows 8.
If the former, it should work. You might want to check if the USB cable is inserted properly.

I have tried both desktop and links. The link download sites says it is for both bb10 and playbook so I tried it because desktop didn't work. Even with neither installed - windows 7 acknowledged the playbook as drive Z. With Window 7 link works fine and recognizes the playbook. The cable was inserted OK and is in good working order as I use it all the time
Thank you for your suggestions though

"The link download sites says it is for both bb10 and playbook"
Not the one I looked at. Said for BB10 only. sorry you are right, but you have to go into system requirements. Says PB with 2.1. I will have to try the Mac version
