Playbook not regerstering with computer

When I plug my Playbook into my computer via USB.

Nothing. Does not show up in Desktop software or Windows Explorer. 


My Blackberry phone works, so it's not the USB cable or USB cord.


I get a "!" in the top left saying "Unable to charge battery with connected source".


The OS version is 2.1.1314 and I have Windows 7 64-bit on my PC.

hey are you using the latest version of the desktop manager?  Also have you restarted the playbook and computer?

Has it ever worked?
