connect it to a power source and try turning it on
connect to a PC and try to trun it on
might have to reset it by holding power and both volume keys for 10 seconds and try the above.

I am having a similar problem. I have tried to restart but nothing seems to work, I was able to turn off the blinking for a while but it seem to start back up after a while. I also tried to plug it in and still nothing but the same two blinking red lights. I plugged it into my computer and can not get a response from my computer other than the software download. Please let me know if you have any other ideas. Thank you.

Same problem, have held power and volume buttons down for 10+ seconds, have connected the playbook to to bb desktop manager.....shows Model: BlackBerry Playbook................PIN; 0.................never backed up, never synced.....
If I reset the tablet I get a window that says "BB Desktop Software cannot communicate with connected Device" and a message box saying that I "might" need to update the BB Tablet OS to correct the problem.
When I go through the motions of allowing it to try and update, BB desktop mgr asks for my device password and the email and then attempts to download. A millisecond later...."There was an error updating your software....Please try again....
I have a call into tech support,,,,1st call was painful............30 mins to tell me that they need to have tech support contact me...

I also had the same problem, connected the playbook over usb on my computer, started the Blackberry desktop software and click the button right in the bottom (It's the "Try again to connect" I think). After a few times the desktop software began to install the operating system again, but I had to install it completely again.

I have the same issue, when I plug the device into the power outlet the RED LED comes on for about 7 secs then goes off and briefly displays playboo, this continues in a loop.
I spoke with RIM, all levels of telephone support, even created a WEBNX.
Reboot via power and volume.
DTM Update will complete then say please disconect your device to complete update but the Playbook screen is still black.

My PB is still a brick...no follow up call from RIM tech support, no follow up e-mail. I've tried charging over night, pressing the power and volumes, conecting to DTM....nothing new to report.
Is anyone from RIM reading this?????
