I've just got a new laptop with Windows 8 OS and I can't get my playbook to connect to the desktop software. It worked fine on my previous laptop which had Windows Vista. I have tried numerous solutions from the forum and google and I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this?

This can be caused by User Account Control in your Windows account, try disabling this feature and test.

I tried that but is still doesn't work. It just comes up with:
"If the device is rebooting or has a dead battery, click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots.
If clicking Retry doesn't connect the device, or the device isn't rebooting with a charged battery, you might need to update your Blackberry Tablet OS to correct the problem."
Any help would be appreciated.
