Playbook won't show as a USB drive



Today I went to connect my Playbook using the USB cable to transfer some files

usually once connected the windows explorer (Windows 7, 64 bits) will show the playbook as a USB drive.

Now it tries to connect and nothing...a few minutes later an error saying the PC can not connect to the device

So I try my Bold just to see if my computer has suddenly an issue, my smartphone Bold connects and it is see also as a USB drive so no change there....

I re-stored the Playbook and re-download the new OS 2..Same issues

I re-load the Blackberry desktop just in case...no change


So any ideas what is this problem...

It's known that sometimes the PlayBook won't connect if wifi is turned on. I'd say try switching wifi and bluetooth off, and making sure usb sharing is enabled in the settings.


Failing that, I wonder if the 3 button reset would help.

I've seen this occasionally, and no idea why it happens, though with OS2 I haven't seen it.


Try going to settings- storage & sharing, and then under USB connections try "connect to windows" instead of Auto. I found that fixed my issue back when I had it.

Do you have a connected network drive? I've seen windows mount to drives that is used for network. Just a thought. Else I'd check that the bb launcher is running and sees the pb.

I got it to work

When you connect the playbook it creates a virtual network connection (Lan)

For some strange reason this connection was set to disable
