Screen Resolution

I am confused by the set as wallpaper feature in the gallery. Every time I save a photo, either from the web or camera and set as wallpaper, it does not display on screen as it does in gallery, but instead is enlarged and fuzzy. Shouldn't the wallpaper look exactly as it does in gallery view (and if not, what's up with this)?

Thanks.

Re: Screen Resolution

Wallpaper images need to be 1024x1024, unfortunately, to be displayed correctly in all cases. It should of course be possible for 1024x600 to show correctly at least in landscape mode (but not in portrait), but RIM choose not to prioritize that feature just yet, it seems.

There have been many threads about this, on crackberry.com if not here.

Re: Screen Resolution

That's too bad since most images/screen captures from the web are not perfectly square. Smiley Sad

Thanks for the info!

[ Edited ]

I was experimenting and took a snapshot of my screen, then made that the wallpaper, and it didn't work.

However, I found an article that has explored this issue:

http://www.playbookdaily.com/2011/04/25/blackberry-playbook-wallpaper-size-explained/

Conclusion: Wallpaper size should be 1024×1200.

the article is wrong. Doing a wallpaper with that definition will get you a cut wallpaper.

To get the best quality, the wallpaper needs to be 1024x1024.

Example here:
