Sheet to Go problem - reoccurring - cant change text format - bold, color, font, alignment, etc

I use a seciffic spreasdheet daily for a work inventory.  Basic cells of only text.  Nothing fancy.  No formulas.  I solely use the playbook for this spreadsheet.

Works fantastic HOWEVER,  after usage for a few weeks, I lose the ability to change cell font, color, bold, etc.  At that point, any changes to a cell resets that cells format to plain text.  I have to open ona laptop to change the speadsheet formatting and unlock the cells then resave.

Any ideas?

My playbook has replaced my laptop except for this purpose, and to store regular camera pics as no card reader.

To change the font options tap  > ., do you have these options? Are you missing the option that looks like this  ?

Thanks.
