I had a similar problem, except it stoped earlier: I downloaded completely, but when installation wanted to start it got 'interrupted'. Therefore,I was not in as bad a situation since version 1 was still functioning.


It took me about 15 times until I found the exact procedure, gathered from several posts here and on crackberry:


1-Connect Playbook to PC USB port.

2-Launch Blackberry desktop

3-Backup everything

4-On playbook, press Power & Volume - & Volume + util shutdown and red light appears.

5-Playbook will start a reload process.

6-Watch Blackberry desktop. At one point, there will be a window poping up saying it cannot connect, and if you want to upgrade the software. This is what you are looking for. Do reload from this window on desktop.

7-Careful not to remove the USB

8-Follow instructions.
