Welcome to the forums.
I would suggest you remove the pairing between the two devices and then pair them again and setup the bridge again. Once this is done test to see if you are still having the same issue.

I have exactly the same issue, except the text message icon never appeared or worked using bridge. I have a new Bold 9930 now to which I transferred all data using BB Desktop Manager and still the text message icon doesn't appear or work. Plus I have a second Playbook and it doesn't work with that either ! Aagh!!
