The person you called is not currently available!

I and my cousin  tried to keep in touch using the video chat app on our playbooks for a while now.

The app worked great for a few days, but then it stopped working for no reason.

Now every time we try to call each other we keep getting the annoying message "The person you called is not currently available"So we have to use our phone instead.

We notice that if my cousin try to call herself, there is a green icon on the left side of her name. But if I try to call myself  the icon appears to be grey. That's the only clue we have right now.

So if anyone know how to fix it please let me know about it!

P/S: we use difference BB ID on each of our PB.

Have you both tried to restart your Playbook and then use the vid chat again?

Touch the battery icon > Restart.

Yes, I even wiped it once but nothing changes

There are other posters who have similar problems that started recently. Might be a problem with the Video Chat Server.

If a BlackBerry® ID email address contains any capital letters, the Video chat availabitliy status will not be detected.  Hence, the status of the user will not be avilable in the Video chat application for the user.

There's none capitals letter in both of our bbid so I don't think that is the problem.

Make sure it is not accidentally typed with a capitol letter

 

email accounts are void of capitol letter recognition and can work either way. One of you might have accidentally typed in a cap letter.
