Two Windows of The Same App

I am wondering if you can open two windows of the same app on simultaneously. For example, I myself want to open two separate documents, placed on two separate windows, at the same time but I cannot figure out how to do it. I would appreciate if someone could tell me if this is possible on the playbook, and if so tell me how, thanks.

Re: Two Windows of The Same App

maybe if you save it with a new name like docA you can have both open, other than that i dont know how it would be possible.

Re: Two Windows of The Same App

Hi there,

The short answer to this is yes, it is possible to do this with documents. For example, I've had several Word documents open and a couple of PDF files all open at the same time before.

To open multiple documents, open the first one, which will open it in new window, then swipe up from the bottom bezel to expose all running apps (don't actually close anything), go back to the Documents to Go window, then open the next document. You can do the same thing with the Adobe Reader.

Not all apps have this ability though... its typically the just the document apps.

I hope that helps, but please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Thanks for your reply, but I am just unclear with the step "go back to the Documents to Go window" could you explain step by step after swiping the bottom bezel.

Re: Two Windows of The Same App

Sure thing (and sorry for the response getting back to you).

After you've opened the first document, swipe up from the bottom bezel. You will now see the other open apps.

Directly to the left should be a window that says Docs To Go. Just select that window. You should then be able to open another document or create a new document, in exactly the same way you opened the first one.

To open other windows, just do the same thing, although you may have to swipe further to the get to the Docs To Go app.

If you need further assistance, I will see if I can get you some screenshots. Smiley Happy

Re: Two Windows of The Same App

I trust I'm missing something but I can't seem to get two PDF files open at the same time on my PlayBook.  When I open a second PDF file it replaces the first opened PDF file rather than creating a second instance.

Native pdf and docs to go apps will only allow one open document at once.
