I am having such serious issues with the .688 update (battery drain, apps not working properly), that I want to downgrade back to 22.214.171.1248.
I did a security wipe but it reloaded the .688 update.
Can someone please advise how I remove this update and go back to 126.96.36.1998.
Thanks in advance

First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.
Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.
You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
QUICKLY choose the Update option.
This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.

Doesn't work for me. Windows 7-64
Full power off and disconnected.
Start BBDM. Plug in usb.
Playbook starts to boot.
Little error boxes pop up on windows about device drivers
could not be initialized or something but that is all.
BBDM give password prompt. No options as
indicated in the solutions.
Any other ideas?

Third time was lucky. That is the third time I tried reboot with
cable connected and BBDM running, I got the prompt and
was able to reinstall.
Or maybe that should be third time unluck, as it seems you
cannot restore a backup made when on 668 to a PlayBook
running 358. That is stupid.
Low and behold though, turns out the bbb file is actually
a zip file, so working on saving the handful of pictures,
which is all I really care about.
