This is insane!!! no matter what I try the photo still get resized by playbook... I think they need to really look at this thing and fix it, it's a shame such a cool pad and you can't even enjoy your own photos in full quality as a wallpaper, Why is it that the photos that come already installed look perfect when setting them as wallpaper and when you want to place a photo it doesn't do it in the same manner... NOT GOOD!!

This is how wallpaper works on the Playbook.
The attached images have been resized to work better in the forum.
This is a photo of my dogs. The original is 1600x1200 pixels.
If I decide to use this photo as wallpaper the Playbook uses the centre 1024x1024 section.
I will see the red section when I am in landscape and the blue section when in portrait.
Red is 1024 wide x 600 high, blue is 600 wide x 1024 high.
The centre 600x600 section, purple, is always visible in either landscape of portrait.
The corners outside of the red and blue sections are never seen as wallpaper.
If the OS didn't do it this way it would be very difficult to determine the common centre section.
The common centre section is like an anchor so when you go from landscape to portrait it appears that the wallpaper does not move it just exposes more or less of the image.
In this example I cropped and resized the image to 1024x1024 so the part of the image that I want to see in both portrait and landscape is within the 600x600 centre area.
I removed the corner areas just for illustration, it is not necessary.

I would want the OS give choices like fit to window based on the original orientation of the image. Fit landscape image to landscape mode and compromise portrate mode, fit portrate image to portrate mode and compromise landscape mode. As it functions right now both modes are a compromise.
