WHY? PB browser reading mobile vs. desktop

[ Edited ]

hello pb community, i've read thru most posts and dont see people having challenges w Mobile sites coming up vs Desktop version. An example would be ufc.com. also noticing a lotta hanging on loading sites like engadget or gizmodo with or without Flash on. any workarounds for mobile site issue?

Re: WHY? PB browser reading mobile vs. Desktop

I do have the same issue with www.marketwatch.com and I am really disappointed.

I even type  manually http://www.marketwatch.com  but as son as I pressed the return key on the keypad, it translate the address  to http://www.marketwatch.com/m  which is the ugly , ultra-limited Mobile site.

Do we have to delete a cookie, a preference or another Web Browser setting?

Thanks for your help.

Re: WHY? PB browser reading mobile vs. Desktop

hello titemini,

there isn't anything you can do with the browser to change this (unfortunately). from what i've been told.....some sites are programmed to treat any BB device with displaying the mobile site version. until the website makes the changes then we are stuck. im also hoping RIM launches updates to the browser for an option to force how how the device and site interact.....for example, BB's site has option to force Tablet or Desktop or Mobile setting. Android allows for this on the smartphones but not sure about tablets. im hopefulan os update will address this in the near future.
