Windows 8 - Print to go - Complete failure

Hi,

I would appreciate some help.

Having successfully used Print to Go on my Windows 7 64 bit machine, I am now at a loss.  I upgraded to Windows 8 and it does not function.

I have uninstalled the antivirus, installed Print to go and no luck. I have searched many forums and tried numerous things to try and fix it but it just does not work. even creating a new user.

When I have reinstalled it I never get the question about password connection like I did to start with. I wonder if that is saved locally (not uninstalled) and reused or if it is not even getting that far.

Print to go is integral to what I do - It is like losing a hand not having it available.

All suggestions welcome.

Pete

Re: Windows 8 - Print to go - Complete failure

I have no experience with Win8 yet - but - based on Win7 here are some ideas. After all your efforts to fix the problem there is very likely an incompatibility issue here.

- check if Win8 allows applications to run in their 'native' (older Win OS) mode.  Win7 has this feature.  Microsoft help should be able to help there.

- since as far as I can tell print to go was written by BlackBerry (not sure) I would call BlackBerry support and report the problem.

Re: Windows 8 - Print to go - Complete failure

Having installed playbook on an older Windows 7 64bit laptop and seen it work perfectly, I have further insigh into the problem.

If I tried logged into blackberry but put the wrong password in for the playbook, I got the same error message as with the Windows 8 machine.

When I initially logged in with the old Windows7 Desktop I ticked the remember me box.

What I would like to do is find that log in box again; I haven't seen it apear even when uninstalling and reinstalling.

Any ideas anyone?

When you uninstall, do you do it through Control Panel, Add or Remove Software Utility. I use Win XP Pro? Do you reboot afterwards before reinstalling?

Have you disabled the Printer Spooler on your computer before you tried installing the PTG

Re: Windows 8 - Print to go - Complete failure

Yes

But PTG will not install properly if the spooler is stopped

Once restarted it installed correctly but failed to work

Re: Windows 8 - Print to go - Complete failure

Hi Pete

i also am running windows 8, and print to go, i don't have any problems at all,

all i did was change the printer (office2013) and followed on screen prompts

perhaps it might be an update issue with windows

Regards

Mick
